Glen’s training was in sculpture. She never thought she could handle colour, and never sewed anything more complicated than Clothkits for her kids.
She taught idiosyncratic adolescents in various art rooms for 20 years. Eventually, having seen some examples of the work, Glen took the City and Guilds Creative Embroidery course, Parts 1 and 2, with Isobel Clover at Suffolk College.
The sudden explosion of colour and texture was amazing and she now loves exploring the richest threads and materials. She continues her work in clay, making, at the moment, bowls combined with figures, and then escapes from the grey clay to the wonder of colour.
